Geocaching Cache Valley

We decided to spend this sunny Sunday afternoon going geocaching- for those of you unfamiliar with this sport, it's basically getting coordinates from fellow geocachers who have previously hidden treasures all over the valley, then following your GPS to find where X marks the spot. Since I am married to a guy who secretly wants to be a treasure hunter, he thought this was great fun, and the kids love it too. The great thing about it is, some of the spots we went to were parks and trails that I didn't even know existed, and I've lived here for 12 years! Some were buried in tree trunks, and one was under a pile of rocks. After that, we hiked up this mountainside to look for antlers that the elk have dropped, and Cade was lucky enough to find one! Dave said this was his idea of a perfect Sunday.

Business For Sale

Ok, so a year ago I decided to take a little break from doing weddings, it just got a little too overwhelming and was completely dominating my schedule. Well, I enjoyed that break so much that I've decided to put my business up for sale so I can focus on other things that were lacking attention (mainly my house, my kids, and our mealtimes). It's taken me 6 months to get pictures and prices of everything, but it's finally done (round of applause, please!)and I have another blog you can see everything if anyone you know is interested. www.weddingsinbloom.blogspot.com I am still doing floral centerpieces and bouquets, because that is the most fun for me. Here is a picture of one I just did for Bailey's favorite piano teacher- M. (can't believe she is old enough to get married now!)

Mustache May

Dave announced to me that he may have to grow a mustache. Why, you ask? Because it's almost Mustache May, and "all the guys at work are doing it", he says.
Hm.
Although I do think my husband looks hot with a beard, clean shaven, or anything in between, I do question the mustache. I'll definitely have to post a picture of that crazy bunch of guys.

Land of ZION

We just spent the kids' spring break down at Zions National Park with the Jensons. This is our second time down there and it was every bit as fun as the first! I love this campground, it's called a "5 star" campground, so you can barely call it camping, it's more like a resort with endless hours of exploration for the kids, a swimming pool, and hot tub for us! The kids played in the Zion river and found their own private island, called it the "Bridge to Teri-Rocca" and discovered precious rocks they wanted to bring home to try and sell to their friends. They rode their scooters all around the park, and Avery was always trying to keep up with them. She mastered the scooter by the end of the trip!! You may notice that Avery has her flower hat on in every single picture, that's because she wouldn't take it off for 5 days straight. That's fine with me, since this was our first time seeing the sun in a very long time! Hello 80 degrees!! We were LOVING it.

It's always a good time with the Jenson's because their kids are the same ages as ours and they have grown up together. I still can't believe we have 7 between us and look how big they are! This was our picnic spot during our hike.

We hiked up the riverside trail, and the kids wanted to re-name this hike and call it "Squirrel Trail" because they were everywhere! The kids actually petted one (these squirrels are obviously well fed). They were naming them Alvin and saying "chicka wow-wow" from the movie . Yeah, that was about chipmunks wasn't it. oh well!

What's a vacation without stopping for ice cream? This was outside the Zions lodge.

We visited the Best Friends animal sanctuary outside of Kanab where they rescue all kinds of animals (over 2,000!) and give them a safe place to live. This one took a liking to Dave! This place was pretty amazing, most of the animals have been abused or neglected, and now they are enjoying life in this animal community in the middle of the desert!

The kids loved exploring these rock formations above St. George

Cade had us all giggling when he spotted this rock that jutted up toward the sky, climbed on it, got down on all fours, then began to howl like a wolf. (He said he had to do it because the moon was full.)
