Destination: Oregon Coast!!!

This was our first attempt at a family roadtrip, and I'm happy to say it was a big hit with the kids! The 2500 mile car ride was even enjoyable(?), thanks to www.momsminivan.com. (Great ideas for kids + long car rides!) We made clothes for their webkinz, created things from tin foil, played bingo, and the cow counting game (this is fun in the town of Tillamook where there's a b-zillion cows!) Here's just a few of the 169 pictures I took, there is too much beauty to take in!! The kids will remember feeding the seals, (and then pretending to BE seals in the swimming pools), exploring the tide pools for starfish, anenomes, & sea shells, standing on the wall that Free Willy actually jumped over in his jump to freedom, and discovering they really like sea food. I will remember early morning runs along the coast and the charming cedar plank cottages, with picket fences and colorful flowers, and Dave will never forget the oceanview from the condo and the razor clam chowder, best ever! Between swimming, hot tubbing, and getting rained on every day, we were completely water logged by the end of the week, but the kids cried on the last day because they didn't want to leave the ocean.
