review rating: 3 of 5 starsI had just finished reading A Thousand Splendid Suns (and was fascinated with it), so I wanted to read more about women in Afgahnistan. This is another telling of life behind the burqa, and the degrading of women. I just shake my head in disbelief that there is STILL so much slavery today. This is a quick read, with a slightly disturbing ending, fitting for the disturbing every day realities they deal with being under terrorists' rule.

I saw that book and thought it would be interesting. I will have to save that one for summer reading.
I've heard this book is good from my cousin!! I am horribly jealous of your frozen meals, how convienient!!
